Summer 2008

Now in its fourth year, Kahani's Annual Young Writers and Illustrators Contest challenges readers to pen a 500-word short story that must incorporate three key words picked by the magazine¡'s Editorial Board. Submissions are divided into 6-8 and 9-11 age groups. Once the top three stories are chosen from each group, readers are asked to illustrate the first place story that corresponds to their age category.

The work of the top authors and illustrators are published in Kahani's Spring issue and the winners also receive cash prizes. Runners-up are awarded gift cards.

We'll announce the three new words for the 2008-2009 Kahani Contest in mid-September, so keep checking back!
